Senior Geospatial Data & GIS Scientist

🌍 We’re hiring: Senior Geospatial Data & GIS Scientist — Freelance 📍 Fully remote from any EU country 💼 Freelance contract 🎓 Bachelor’s degree + at least 8 years of relevant experience 🗣️ Fluent English We are looking for an experienced geospatial specialist to help design and develop GIS platforms, spatial data pipelines and cloud-based analytics solutions. 🔎 What you’ll do • Develop and optimise GIS solutions and spatial databases. • Process and analyse geospatial data using Python. • Automate workflows and integrate data into data lake/lakehouse environments. • Deliver geospatial solutions using Azure, AWS or Google Cloud. • Ensure data quality, metadata consistency and interoperability. ✅ What you’ll bring • Strong experience with GIS technologies such as ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS, GeoServer or GDAL/OGR. • Strong Python skills and experience with geospatial libraries. • Practical knowledge of SQL, spatial SQL and cloud-based processing. • Familiarity with metadata standards and data governance. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. ➕ Experience with SDMX, environmental indicators or statistical-geospatial integration is a plus. 📩 Interested?
