About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Open-Source GIS Developer / Architect with strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-grade GIS solutions using open-source technologies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building scalable Open-Source Enterprise GIS solutions covering spatial databases, GIS services, web applications, editing workflows, integrations, security, and enterprise deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement Open-Source Enterprise GIS architectures.
Design, configure, and manage spatial databases using PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
Configure and administer GeoServer and/or QGIS Server.
Develop and publish GIS services using WMS, WFS, WFS-T, WMTS, OGC APIs, and REST APIs.
Configure and customize Web GIS solutions using MapStore, OpenLayers, MapLibre, or similar technologies.
Integrate QGIS Desktop with enterprise spatial databases and GIS services.
Design multi-user GIS editing and data management workflows.
Implement GIS data validation, topology, QA/QC, audit/history, and approval workflows.
Design and implement user roles, permissions, authentication, and GIS security.
Integrate GIS solutions with external enterprise systems and APIs.
Develop GIS automation and backend functionality using Python, PyQGIS, GDAL/OGR, and Spatial SQL.
Optimize spatial databases and GIS services for performance and scalability.
Design and support enterprise deployment environments including Docker, Linux, High Availability, Backup, and Disaster Recovery.
Provide technical guidance and contribute to architecture and technology selection decisions.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 5+ years of professional GIS development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with QGIS, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and GeoServer and/or QGIS Server.
Strong knowledge of Spatial SQL and spatial database design.
Experience with Python, PyQGIS, and GDAL/OGR.
Good understanding of OGC standards and GIS web services.
Experience developing or implementing Web GIS applications.
Experience with REST APIs and system integration.
Experience with Linux, Docker, and Git.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise or large-scale GIS solutions.
