HR Design is recruiting for its client - the unique local provider of Command-and-Control systems for the Defense and Homeland Security Market and software solutions integrator, from Bucharest - a Senior Software Developer - GeoDefence ! You will join a small, dedicated team building a GIS Framework for the BC2A Software suite, in a company with over 20 years of experience in C2 systems, delivering its own solutions to Defense (Land Forces) and Homeland Security entities in Romania. We encourage you to apply if you meet the following criteria: you demonstrate experience in understanding and having an overview of the projects you have worked on, not just specific tasks you have worked with maps and geospatial data , with symbol rendering or with 3D graphics frameworks - and if you don't have all of them, an adjacent area is a very good starting point (vehicle tracking, fleet management, mapping or navigation applications, computer graphics) you are comfortable with the geometry and mathematics behind drawing complex symbols on a map - not advanced research-level math, but a solid, practical command of it you have the capability to analyze technical standards in order to be able to design and implement solutions which are compliant with these standards you are willing to go one step further than the code and understand the operational meaning behind a technical specification, together with our in-house domain experts you have technical and non-technical communication skills (up to the level of business analyst) with the client's representatives you are proactive in identifying specific problems and propose solutions , like introducing relevant functionalities for application development you prefer to have autonomy in project execution and you are comfortable working in a small team , on a product that is still being shaped you have curiosity and a desire for professional development you like to work in an office (5 days a week) and be employed with a permanent contract (CIM) you are a Romanian citizen and able to obtain a security clearance - a requirement for certain projects in this field All the above will enable you to: 1/ act as part of a development team to design, implement and document GIS software functionalities for BC2A Software suite applications (based on NATO/military standards), in line with internal engineering and quality procedures 2/ design and develop a GIS Framework that integrates various map formats: vector, raster, elevation, OGC 3/ create and display complex symbols based on specific military standards 4/ ensure cross-platform compatibility and optimize performance 5/ create user-friendly interfaces and design the software for extensibility 6/ capture & analyze contract and project requirements and participate in designing of new products architecture 7/ implement new functionalities on existing products, as well as maintain and troubleshoot them Therefore, it is mandatory to have these technical skills: Degree in Computer Science or similar, with solid *senior-level experience* (minimum 5 years, 8+ preferred) Programming concepts (OOP, SOLID) C# programming language Microsoft .NET Framework Mathematic skills for calculation of complex symbols drawing on maps OpenGL library, with focus on 3D graphics and performance optimization (nice to have) Experience working with TFS/GIT for version control Capability to analyze technical standards to be able to design and implement solutions which are compliant with these standards Advanced level of English All the details regarding the salary package and the benefits offered by our client will be discussed with the selected candidates, during the first interview.
