About the Role
Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) - GIS
Roles & Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise in GIS, geospatial analysis, and mapping projects.
Lead GIS data processing, quality control, validation, and database management.
Develop spatial analysis models, thematic maps, and geospatial solutions.
Guide project teams on GIS methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements.
Ensure data accuracy, project quality, and timely delivery.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project presentations.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
Postgraduate degree in Geography, Geomatics, Remote Sensing, GIS, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in handling, managing, and analyzing large-scale GIS data.
Strong expertise in geospatial data processing, spatial analysis, quality control, and GIS database management.
Experience in managing large-scale GIS projects and ensuring data accuracy and quality standards is preferred.
Required Skills
Relevant degree in GIS, Geoinformatics, Geography, Remote Sensing, or a related field.
Significant experience in GIS and geospatial project execution.
Strong understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data management, and mapping standards.
Ability to provide technical guidance and resolve complex GIS-related issues.
Experience in managing teams, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring quality standards.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, and other GIS tools.
Expertise in spatial analysis, geospatial databases, and cartography.
Knowledge of remote sensing, satellite imagery, and geospatial data processing.
Understanding of GIS automation, Python, SQL, and PostGIS is preferred.
Experience in GIS data quality assurance and validation.
