Surveyor - Τοπογράφος Γραφείου

The position has been established for supporting the Survey Team and Operations Division. The survey engineer will assist, support and participate in the project preparation and engineering phase as well as in the project execution of offshore projects in terms of pre- and post-survey data processing as well as as-build documentation. The successful candidate shall liaise mainly with the Survey Manager, Project Engineer, the Offshore Managers, and the Technical Director. When commissioning the project, to produce reports, deliverables, digital drawings, GIS data bases, processing and handling point cloud data and final documentation as a member of group of office based surveyors. The candidate will also have frequent communication with clients to obtain relevant information for the projects or to provide feedback regarding the projects and the progress of works. Main Responsibilities Project Preparation: Assists in the preparation of the project survey database Assists in preparation of project execution documentation, maps, drawings, etc. Processes and performs quality control of the survey data (MBES, SSS, TSS, etc.) Assists in the review and check of completeness of GIS Data (Digital terrain models, Shapefiles, Electronic Drawings etc.) Participate in daily / weekly meetings Project Execution: Verify project's Geodesy and Datum Travel offshore in the line of training (participation in one offshore trip) Assists in survey equipment calibration and verification operations, which include: Side Scan Sonars Online MBE/TSS data acquisition Performs daily TSS, MBES data processing, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency QC (quality check) of acquire data Post process of survey data Prepares preliminary as-build/as-laid/as-buried survey reports Updates Project DTM Produce project GIS data bases and as-build drawings Commissioning: Prepares final documentation of the projects Records and documents related to surveys Requirements Bachelor and/or MSc degree in Survey Engineering or similar engineering field 1-3 years' experience as a Surveying Engineer Experience with geodesy, cartography, GIS, photogrammetry and charting Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office required Proficient user of AutoCad 2D and 3D Good knowledge of Microstation/ArcGIS/Global Mapper/QGIS or equivalent GIS software Good knowledge of conventional and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) surveying principles and processing Knowledge of hydrographic data acquisition, processing and reporting software is to be considered as extra skills Prior use of EIVA NaviPac/NaviModel/NaviEdit/NaviPlot or QINSY or other relevant data collection & post-processing software is to be considered as extra skills Clear and effective oral and written communication skills in English language Additional working knowledge of foreign languages, (e.g., Italian, German, French etc.) are to be considered as extra skills Benefits Private Health Insurance Company Bus from central spots (only for the office in Elefsina) Fast-paced environment Specialization in a niche market Competitive compensation Continuous development opportunities This job description is intended to convey information essential to understand the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed by job holders within this job.
