Job Description The Surveyor/Geospatial Engineer role at UpMS entails conducting topographic surveys in mining areas using high-precision equipment and up-to-date methodologies. Day-to-day responsibilities include: Collecting field data Interpreting geospatial information Preparing maps and technical drawings Monitoring construction and infrastructure works Ensuring topographic data accuracy The role also involves integrating survey data with engineering and operations teams to support project optimization analyses. This is a full-time position operating under a hybrid model based in Porto, allowing for partial remote work (home office) as project needs dictate. Qualifications Proven experience in topographic surveys and surveying, including field data collection, measurement interpretation, and creation of precise graphical representations. Knowledge of land surveying, including terrain and boundary measurement techniques, with experience integrating survey data into mining and infrastructure projects. Ability to operate surveying equipment such as total stations and other electronic measurement tools to ensure high measurement accuracy. Experience in building surveying and structural analysis, when required for mining support projects. Degree in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying Engineering, Geography, Civil Engineering, or related fields. Familiarity with geoprocessing and 3D modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS) is desirable. Collaborative mindset, strong safety orientation, and availability for field activities.
