Technology Developer Officer (GIS Developer)

**About the role** The **Technology Developer Officer specialising in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Development** will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining geospatial applications that support our business operations and strategic initiatives. #### **Key responsibilities** - Design, develop, and deploy Geospatial hub and web GIS applications for internal users and stakeholders - Integrate geospatial data from multiple sources and create data models to support business requirements - Develop and manage data pipelines for geospatial and operational data integration (ETL Processes) - Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical GIS solutions - Maintain and optimise the ArcGIS Enterprise platform, databases, and infrastructure to ensure performance and reliability (PostGIS, enterprise geodatabases, etc.). - Develop frontend GIS applications using ReactJS/NextJS and ArcGIS JavaScript SDK - Build backend services using Python (FastAPI) for geospatial processing and API development - Cross-functional collaboration to ensure business needs #### **Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Science, Geography, or a related field - Proven experience as a GIS Developer or in a similar geospatial development role, ideally 2-4 years - Strong proficiency with GIS software platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS, or equivalent tools - Solid programming skills in languages commonly used in GIS development, such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C# - Experience with geospatial databases, including PostgreSQL with PostGIS extensions or similar technologies - Familiarity with web-based GIS technologies, mapping libraries (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers), and REST APIs - Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail - Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams - Preferred: knowledge of cloud-based GIS solutions, experience with mobile GIS applications, or familiarity with spatial data infrastructure (SDI)
