Transmission Routing & Siting Specialist

Our client is seeking a Transmission Routing & Siting Specialist to support the planning and development of utility-scale infrastructure projects across North America. This role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and optimizing routing alternatives for electric transmission lines, pipelines, renewable energy facilities, and other linear infrastructure projects. Working alongside engineering, environmental, permitting, GIS, and project development teams, you'll help develop practical, defensible routing recommendations by balancing technical, environmental, regulatory, constructability, and stakeholder considerations. What You'll Do Develop and evaluate routing alternatives for electric transmission lines, natural gas pipelines, water pipelines, and other linear infrastructure projects. Analyze environmental, engineering, land use, permitting, constructability, and stakeholder constraints to support project development. Utilize GIS and geospatial datasets to identify routing opportunities, assess project feasibility, and support decision-making. Perform desktop routing studies and participate in occasional field assessments to validate routing recommendations. Prepare technical reports, exhibits, mapping products, and project deliverables for clients and internal project teams. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, environmental, permitting, land, and project development professionals throughout early-stage project planning. What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience supporting transmission, pipeline, renewable energy, utility, or other linear infrastructure projects. Experience with transmission routing, pipeline routing, siting studies, GIS analysis, environmental planning, engineering, or infrastructure development. Working knowledge of geospatial analysis, mapping tools, and routing methodologies. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical information. Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams. Preferred Background Experience supporting one or more of the following: Electric Transmission Renewable Energy Natural Gas Pipelines Water Pipelines Data Center Development Utility Infrastructure Environmental Planning GIS & Spatial Analysis Land Development Infrastructure Siting A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science, Planning, GIS, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
