Role Overview
We are looking for passionate engineers and specialists to join our Kuala Lumpur team. Based on your experience and interest, you may apply for one of the following roles:
Role 1 – Technical Support Engineer (Delivery) – 2+ years IT/system operations experience
Role 2 – Big Data Development Engineer – 3+ years big data development experience
Role 3 – Big Data Operations Engineer – 3+ years big data operations experience
Role 4 – GIS Engineer – Geospatial data processing, GIS platform implementation & operations
Role 5 – GIS Data Specialist – Geospatial data processing & spatial database management
Key Responsibilities
Role 1 – Technical Support Engineer (Delivery)
Perform daily health checks for regional business systems, review monitoring alerts, and carry out routine operations such as system releases, version updates, and access permission management.
Collect logs and information when issues occur, reproduce where possible, and escalate to relevant technical teams; assist with incident handling.
Coordinate with local teams and business partners on backend configuration, data verification, user enquiries, and basic reporting.
Provide cross-time-zone operational support and respond to urgent business issues outside regular hours when required.
Maintain shift handover records, operational documents, SOPs, and business FAQs.
Role 2 – Big Data Development Engineer
Participate in the design and implementation of highly available, scalable big data architectures (Lambda/Kappa).
Optimise large-scale data processing performance (e.g., Spark tuning, Flink state backend optimisation).
Independently develop big data platform modules and resolve technical challenges in data pipelines.
Collaborate with data analysts and algorithm teams to provide efficient data interfaces and tooling.
Lead or participate in technical solution design, produce development documentation, and drive implementation.
Role 3 – Big Data Operations Engineer
Manage and develop automation tools for operations and deployment.
Handle requirements analysis, product design, coding, deployment, and maintenance for the data operations platform and its components.
Ensure data quality across collection and processing pipelines.
Manage daily operations, deploy and optimise production servers, and maintain technical documentation.
Role 4 – GIS Engineer
Handle geospatial data collection, cleaning, correction, merging, format conversion, and topology checks across vector, raster, remote sensing, and 3D data.
Participate in GIS project requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, and delivery acceptance.
Perform spatial analysis (overlay, buffer, network, site selection, terrain) and produce standardised maps and visualisation outputs.
Maintain WebGIS and 2D/3D GIS platforms, including bug fixes, performance optimisation, and version iterations.
Support multi-source map engine integration (OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, HereMaps) and maintain technical documentation.
Role 5 – GIS Data Specialist
Handle geospatial data collection, cleaning, correction, merging, format conversion, and topology checks across vector, raster, remote sensing, and 3D data.
Design, build, and maintain spatial databases, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness.
Perform spatial analysis and produce standardised electronic maps, thematic maps, and business visualisation outputs.
Support WebGIS platform operations, layer management, permission configuration, and service scheduling.
Prepare data processing manuals, project implementation plans, technical specifications, and acceptance reports.
Required Qualifications
For Role 1 – Technical Support Engineer (Delivery)
Diploma or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in system operations, IT operations support, server administration, or a similar role.
Familiar with daily administration of Linux and Windows servers, including basic command-line operations, system monitoring, and log analysis.
Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Alibaba Cloud, Huawei Cloud), database operations, server administration, and computer networking.
Able to independently handle common system and business issues, and escalate complex technical issues with complete and accurate information.
Strong capabilities in shift handovers, progress updates, incident documentation, and post-incident reviews.
Good spoken and written Mandarin Chinese required for communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
Basic written and spoken English required for communication with local teams, vendors, and business partners.
Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and good incident-response capabilities.
Able to adapt to a multicultural working environment and accept cross-time-zone work arrangements, including shift work or after-hours support when required.
For Role 2 – Big Data Development Engineer
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related field.
3+ years of big data development experience; led 50TB+ data platform construction or core module refactoring projects.
Must-have: Proficient in Hadoop/Spark/Flink ecosystem; familiar with Kafka/Pulsar streaming architecture; proficient in SQL/Hive/Python/Java/Scala; experienced in Doris/StarRocks tuning.
Nice-to-have: Distributed system tuning (Spark Shuffle, Flink backpressure); data lake technologies (Iceberg/Delta Lake/Paimon); cloud-native big data (EMR/CDH operations, K8s scheduling).
Familiar with full-chain data scenarios in at least one vertical domain (logistics, e-commerce, telecommunications).
Able to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions.
For Role 3 – Big Data Operations Engineer
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related field.
3+ years of relevant experience; proficient in Linux principles, systems, and applications.
Deep understanding of mainstream big data open-source systems (Hadoop, Kafka, StarRocks, Flink, ClickHouse) — architecture, configuration, optimisation, deployment, and troubleshooting.
Proficient in at least one programming language: Python / Rust / Golang / Java, with Linux/Unix development experience.
Familiar with Alibaba Cloud big data products, especially StarRocks and Flink monitoring, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
Experience with Hadoop/Hive/Spark/Flink/HBase/Presto/ClickHouse operations is preferred.
Data governance experience is a plus; strong sense of responsibility and excellent communication skills.
For Role 4 – GIS Engineer
Bachelor's degree or above in Geographic Information, Surveying, Remote Sensing, Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
Familiar with GIS fundamentals, spatial data models, map projections, topology, and coordinate system transformation.
Proficient in ArcGIS, QGIS, SuperMap and other mainstream GIS software; skilled in vector/raster data processing, topology checking, spatial analysis, and thematic mapping.
Familiar with PostGIS, MySQL, Oracle and other databases; capable of spatial database design, index optimisation, and batch data processing.
Familiar with coordinate systems, projection transformation, tile cutting, and map service publishing (WMS/WFS/TMS).
Knowledge of WebGIS and 2D/3D GIS visualisation is preferred.
Familiarity with OpenStreetMap, HereMaps, Google Maps, Mapbox, Leaflet is a plus.
Python scripting for automated GIS data processing is preferred.
Experience in surveying, land resources, smart city, or logistics projects is preferred.
Strong project delivery capability, attention to detail, and good communication and documentation skills.
Willing to travel for project phases as required.
For Role 5 – GIS Data Specialist
Bachelor's degree or above in Geographic Information, Surveying, Remote Sensing, Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
Familiar with GIS fundamentals, spatial data models, map projections, topology, and coordinate system transformation.
Proficient in ArcGIS, QGIS, SuperMap; skilled in vector/raster data processing, topology checking, spatial analysis, and thematic mapping.
Familiar with PostGIS, MySQL, Oracle; capable of spatial database design, index optimisation, and batch data processing.
