GIS Data Specialist / GIS Engineer

Job Description We are looking for a GIS Data Specialist / GIS Engineer to support geospatial data processing, spatial analysis, GIS system implementation, and map visualisation for logistics, transportation, and other business applications. Key Responsibilities Process and maintain geospatial data, including data cleaning, validation, coordinate transformation, topology checks, and spatial database management. Support GIS project implementation, including requirements gathering, system deployment, map service publishing, testing, and project delivery. Perform spatial analysis, network analysis, and site selection analysis. Develop digital maps, thematic maps, and GIS-based visualisations. Maintain and troubleshoot GIS/WebGIS platforms, including system optimisation and integration with mapping services such as OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, and HERE Maps. Prepare technical documentation, coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders, and provide technical support and user training when required. Identify opportunities to improve GIS workflows, data accuracy, and overall project efficiency. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Science, Geomatics, Surveying, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Urban Planning, or related disciplines. 1–5 years of relevant experience in GIS, geospatial data processing, or GIS project implementation. Proficient in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or SuperMap, with good knowledge of spatial data processing and analysis. Familiar with spatial databases such as PostGIS, and database technologies including MySQL or Oracle. Good understanding of coordinate systems, map projections, and GIS web services (WMS/WFS/TMS). Good spoken and written Mandarin is required for communication with Mandarin-speaking teams and handling Chinese-language technical documentation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Willingness to travel occasionally for project-related activities when required. Added Advantages Experience with WebGIS technologies, Mapbox, Leaflet, or other web mapping frameworks. Knowledge of Python scripting, GIS automation, or GIS application development using Python/Java. Experience in logistics, transportation, surveying, smart city, or related GIS projects. Experience in 3D GIS, photogrammetry, or relevant GIS professional certifications.
