Business Specialist in Water and Wastewater (VA) for a GIS Company

About the Role We are looking for a Business Specialist in Water and Wastewater (VA) to join a leading company in GIS and digital solutions for critical infrastructure. As the ideal candidate, you will help clients take the next step in their digitalization journey—supporting them from advisory and implementation to translating new technology into real operational benefits. Combining your water/wastewater industry knowledge with a clear interest in technology, you will build strong client relationships, drive projects to successful outcomes, and contribute to making underground infrastructure more visible and decision-ready through GIS, data, analysis, and digital workflows. You will work closely with both client organizations and internal product and development teams, while also contributing to the continuous evolution of the company’s offerings. Key Responsibilities Support clients in implementing and using digital solutions for water and wastewater operations Conduct training sessions for clients and assist them in developing their operations using digital tools Carry out user-focused testing of the company’s solutions and deliver customer demonstrations Monitor developments in the VA industry and translate new insights into improvements of the company’s offerings Collaborate with internal teams to further develop services and products Qualifications Proven work experience in the VA sector, e.g., as a water/wastewater engineer, investigation engineer, or equivalent Civil engineering or higher education (e.g., M.Sc.) in fields such as environmental engineering, civil engineering, water resources, or related disciplines Experience with GIS and/or a background in consulting is considered meritorious Excellent command of Swedish and English, both written and spoken Thrive in an advisory role with high client interaction, and have a genuine interest in both technology and the evolution of the VA sector Structured, results-oriented, and possessing strong pedagogical skills to clearly explain complex issues and drive assignments to successful completion What We Offer Opportunity to work at an established and leading GIS company, delivering digital solutions that enhance and streamline vital societal operations Become part of an organization where collaboration, development, and engagement are central values Short decision-making paths, autonomy with accountability, and strong opportunities to influence work methods and processes Work alongside knowledgeable colleagues who are eager to share their expertise and co-develop solutions Additional Information The role involves handling data of high societal sensitivity; therefore, a security clearance including background check of the final candidate will be conducted. The position is flexible in terms of location and may be based in Gothenburg, Gävle, Karlskrona, Sundbyberg, or Malmö.
