Position:
Developer (m/f/d) for Municipal 3D Geospatial Data
Department: Surveying and Cadastre – Subdepartment of Geospatial Data and Surveying

Your Responsibilities:
Operation and maintenance of 3D web visualizations and analysis tools
Further development of the existing 3D city model for simulations, analyses, and enrichment with domain-specific and real-time data in the context of a Digital Twin
Conceptualization and implementation of simulation use cases based on the 3D model in collaboration with relevant departments
Development and integration of GIS applications in spatial contexts
Making 3D data accessible to citizens and administration via Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MR) applications
You will work in a dynamic, future-oriented environment within a diverse municipal administration and actively help shape this area of work.
Your Qualifications:
Completed university degree (Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s) in Geoinformatics, Surveying, Geography, Game Development, or a comparable field with relevance to the job’s focus—or eligibility for civil service in Grade 2, Entry Level, of the surveying technical service.
Additional Requirements:
Experience in building or maintaining 3D city models and working with 3D geospatial data formats such as CityGML, 3DTiles, Quantized Mesh, LAS/LAZ, 3DS, OBJ
Solid knowledge of HTML5 and JavaScript, preferably in the context of 3D web solutions (e.g., CesiumJS, Potree, or similar frameworks)
Proficiency in Python scripting, database handling (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS), and data modeling/conversion (e.g., using FME)
Basic knowledge of simulation models and AI/ML methods applied in spatial contexts
Experience or strong interest in developing VR/AR applications
High level of customer orientation, teamwork skills, initiative, and reliability
Structured, independent work style and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration
Innovative technical understanding and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development
