Principal Data Engineer (GIS / Geospatial)

Your new challenge looks like this: Conceptualize and develop modern solutions for the management, processing, and integration of geospatial data Design data architectures and data models for complex GIS, 3D, and infrastructure data Develop and optimize data integration and transformation processes using technologies such as ArcGIS and FME Advise clients on selecting and evolving appropriate GIS, database, and system architectures Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical visions, interfaces, and solution concepts Support proof-of-concepts, technical validations, and the transition of solutions into production Facilitate workshops and communicate technical concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders Assume technical ownership in projects and actively contribute your expertise to our Engineering Community Your Profile Data is in your DNA? What You Should Bring A successfully completed degree in computer science, geoinformatics, data engineering, geodesy, or a related field Several years of professional experience in data engineering, GIS, geospatial data management, or a comparable technical environment Strong expertise in Esri ArcGIS (ideally ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise) Hands-on experience with FME for geospatial data transformation, integration, and processing In-depth knowledge of relational and spatial databases, especially PostgreSQL/PostGIS Solid understanding of geospatial data models, georeferencing, coordinate systems, and spatial data processing workflows Proficiency in Python Experience with 3D geospatial data and ideally with BIM, CAD, and GIS integration Experience in technical consulting, system architecture design, and workshop facilitation Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Ideally, certification in Esri or FME environments (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Professional or FME Certified Professional) Excellent communication skills in German and English, along with willingness to travel for consulting engagements What We Offer Data moves us!
