Principal Data Engineer (GIS / Geospatial)

Your new challenge includes: Designing and developing modern solutions for the management, processing, and integration of geospatial data Architecting data structures and models for complex GIS, 3D, and infrastructure data Developing and optimizing data integration and transformation processes using technologies such as ArcGIS and FME Advising clients on selecting and evolving appropriate GIS, database, and system architectures Analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical visions, interfaces, and solution concepts Supporting proof-of-concepts, technical validations, and the transition of solutions into production Facilitating workshops and communicating technical concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders Assuming technical ownership in projects and actively contributing your expertise to our Engineering Community Your Profile Is Data in your DNA? Here’s what we expect: A completed university degree in computer science, geoinformatics, data engineering, geodesy, or a related field Several years of professional experience in data engineering, GIS, geospatial data management, or a comparable technical environment Strong expertise in Esri ArcGIS (ideally ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise) Hands-on experience with FME for geospatial data transformation, integration, and processing In-depth knowledge of relational and spatial databases, especially PostgreSQL/PostGIS Solid understanding of geospatial data models, georeferencing, coordinate systems, and spatial data processing workflows Proficiency in Python Experience with 3D geospatial data and ideally with BIM, CAD, and GIS integration Experience in technical consulting, system architecture design, and workshop moderation Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Ideally, certifications in Esri or FME environments (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Professional or FME Certified Professional) Excellent communication skills in German and English, along with willingness to travel for consulting engagements What We Offer Data moves us!
