Field Operations and GIS Coordinator
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:30
What challenge are we offering?
As Coordinator, you provide operational leadership to field staff and the Resource Collection Station (GIS). You are responsible for the day-to-day operations at the municipal worksite and the GIS, including assigning tasks and ensuring smooth workflow.
You support employees in carrying out their duties and ensure they have the necessary tools and guidance. Proactively identifying developments and initiating improvements is essential. You conduct analyses to assess the impact of changes on work content, personnel, and resources.
You translate insights into process improvements and initiate action plans. You independently implement these developments into policy execution and secure buy-in from colleagues and stakeholders. Regularly, you meet with clients to discuss potential improvements or changes.
In addition to overseeing the operational tasks of your team, you are responsible for planning inspections, repairs, materials, and equipment, and you carry out maintenance and usage checks.
What responsibilities will you have?
Ensure implementation of maintenance plans and manage assets at the municipal worksite and GIS;
Contribute to policy development and support the political-administrative decision-making process;
Monitor the finances, planning, and control of the implementation of maintenance and repair plans for field operations and GIS;
Prepare independent advice that provides insight into required developments and more complex dossiers within field operations and GIS;
Participate in projects relevant to field operations or GIS;
Maintain close contact with internal clients and suppliers, ensure clear communication, and continuously seek improvement and development opportunities;
Manage cemeteries: oversee cemetery managers, resolve implementation issues, and contribute to cemetery policy development.
What are your strengths?
As Coordinator for field operations and GIS, you provide functional leadership to the team. In addition to guiding the team, you supervise the municipal worksite and the Resource Collection Station—e.g., operation and procurement of vehicles and equipment, climate adaptation, waste collection and disposal, etc.
Your goal is to ensure everything runs smoothly so the team can perform optimally.
With a sharp eye for process improvements, you proactively identify and implement optimizations, making a substantial contribution to the continuous improvement of field operations and GIS. You always maintain oversight, know what needs to be done, where, and when—and effectively contribute to a more efficient and effective operation of the municipal worksite and GIS.
With your enthusiastic attitude, you also foster a positive and safe working environment. You encourage collaboration and safe working practices, and provide colleagues with the support they need. Additionally, you ensure that the office-based staff—including administrative support, secretary, and work dispatcher—can continue performing their tasks efficiently and effectively. You serve as their first point of contact.
What experience do you bring?
For this role, you meet at least the following requirements:
HBO-level education and working/thinking level;
Experience in a coordinating role and familiarity with the P&C (Planning & Control) cycle;
Experience with process improvement and elevating team performance to a higher level;
Experience with political-administrative decision-making processes;
Experience in the waste sector and managing public spaces is a plus;
You hold a valid B-driver’s license, as the role requires working at various locations.
Starting in civil service (loondienst)? Then, in addition to your gross salary, you receive:
Holiday pay and an individual choice budget;
25 vacation days, flexible public holidays, and the option to purchase additional days;
Travel expense reimbursement;
A good pension scheme;
Additional allowances for internet, phone, and a home office budget;
A training budget, coaching, and access to the Randstad Academy;
Networking events, knowledge sessions, and an annual community festival.
