At the Municipality of Wennigsen (Deister), a position as
Geomatics Specialist or GIS Professional (m/f/d)
is available starting December 1, 2026, within the Department of Construction and Environment. This is a permanent full-time role with a weekly working time of 39 hours. Compensation is based on qualifications and reaches up to pay grade 9a TVöD (German public sector collective agreement).
Your Responsibilities Include:
Documenting existing and newly created GIS-based geospatial data within the GIS system and preparing it for use by various departments, the public, and legally mandated statistics; conducting complex mapping tasks for map revision and updates, as well as integrating map sections; generalizing terrain and surface features (e.g., contour lines)
Independently developing department-specific projects (e.g., land-use plans, development plans, green space, compensation areas, playground and tree registers, sewer network register, and registration of rainwater retention measures)
Coordinating data exchange with other public institutions, engineering offices, etc.
Fulfilling statutory reporting obligations (INSPIRE)
Creating thematic maps to support decision-making and planning processes, and to assist in responding to citizen inquiries and presentations

You Bring:
Successfully completed training as a Geomatics Specialist, GIS Professional, or comparable qualification (e.g., Surveying Technician)
Several years of professional experience in using GIS systems (ideally with RIWA or similar software) and digital documentation of existing conditions
Class B driver’s license
A structured and meticulous approach to work
German language skills at least at CEFR level C1
