Job Description
The Municipality of Wennigsen (Deister) is looking to fill the position of GIS Specialist / Geomatics Engineer (m/f/d) within the Department of Construction and Environment. This is a permanent, full-time position with a weekly working time of 39 hours. Salary is based on qualifications and reaches up to pay grade 9a of the German public sector collective agreement (TVöD).
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation and preparation of existing and newly acquired GIS-based geospatial data for use by various municipal departments, the public, and legally mandated statistics
Complex cartographic tasks, including updating and redrafting maps, and integrating map sections
Independent development of department-specific projects (e.g., land-use plans, development plans, green space, compensation areas, playground and tree registers, sewer network register, and rainwater retention measures)
Data exchange with other public institutions, engineering offices, etc.
Creation of thematic maps to support decision-making, planning processes, citizen inquiries, and presentations

Requirements:
Completed vocational training as a geomatics engineer, GIS specialist, or comparable qualification (e.g., surveying technician)
Several years of professional experience in using GIS systems (ideally with RIWA or similar software) and digital documentation of existing conditions
Class B driver’s license required
German language proficiency at least at C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
