About the Role
Texas A&M Forest Service (Operations Technology & Intelligence Support) is hiring a Geospatial Analyst II in College Station, Texas. This is a 100% in-office position; remote work is not available.
What you'll do:
Develop and enhance data-driven solutions that improve wildfire response and resource management.
Conduct advanced geospatial analyses on complex wildfire and natural resource challenges.
Automate workflows to maximize efficiency and improve response times.
Communicate insights through reports, visualizations and interactive platforms.
Compile, process and manage complex tabular, vector and raster data.
Participate in the agency's geospatial working group and collaborate across TAMFS programs.
Occasionally support emergency response operations, which may include extended hours and weekends.
Required: Bachelor's in forestry, natural resources, spatial sciences, emergency management or related field; at least 4 years in geospatial or statistical analysis (an advanced degree may substitute); relational database knowledge; proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123, Field Maps, Experience Builder and Operations Dashboard; strong Python; familiarity with Azure Functions and Logic Apps; advanced Microsoft Office.
Preferred: graduate degree; forestry, wildfire science, fire ecology or emergency management experience; Power BI; Azure or Power Automate workflow automation; additional programming, statistics or machine learning.
