Position / Missions
We are looking for a Geospatial Data Analyst to join our team in Paris on a long-term assignment. Your mission will involve analyzing, processing, and visualizing geospatial data to extract actionable insights and support decision-making.
You will operate in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment, using BigQuery for data processing and Power BI for visualization. Your expertise in geospatial analysis will be key to understanding territorial dynamics and delivering data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Geospatial Data Processing
Collect and clean geospatial data (shapefiles, GeoJSON, WMS, etc.)
Transform and structure data for use in BigQuery
Integrate diverse data sources (satellite imagery, sensors, external databases)
Analysis & Modeling
Analyze geospatial data to identify trends, correlations, and anomalies
Perform advanced spatial analysis using GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, or equivalents)
Develop complex SQL queries in BigQuery to extract location-based insights
Visualization & Reporting
Build interactive dashboards in Power BI for geospatial data visualization
Create clear, intuitive maps to represent results
Produce concise reports summarizing analyses and recommendations
Collaboration & Innovation
Work closely with business teams (urban planning, environment, logistics, etc.)
Participate in cross-functional projects to integrate geospatial data into decision-making processes
Stay updated on emerging tools and methodologies in geospatial analytics
Profile Sought
Technical Skills
Geospatial Analysis:
- Proficiency in GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, PostGIS, etc.)
- Experience handling vector and raster geospatial data
Cloud & Big Data:
- GCP (Google Cloud Platform): Experience with BigQuery for storage and analysis
- Advanced SQL for querying and transforming geospatial data
Visualization:
- Power BI: Ability to build geolocated dashboards
- Interactive mapping: Integration of geospatial layers
Experience & Expertise
Minimum 2 years of experience in geospatial data analysis
Familiarity with common geospatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefile, KML, etc.)
Experience integrating geospatial data into cloud-based environments
Soft Skills
Analytical mindset: Ability to interpret complex data and derive meaningful insights
Rigor and precision: Accuracy when handling location-based data
