GIS Advisor

We use analytical tools to develop routines that streamline numerous municipal tasks. As a GIS Advisor, you will handle diverse assignments across many municipal subject areas and have the freedom to think creatively. We maintain strong cooperation with other Follo municipalities on shared mapping solutions. Within the Follo collaboration, meetings and workshops are regularly held to jointly address concrete challenges. Our primary work tools are Gisline (by Norkart), Origo (by Geodata) for public access and case handling, and you are free to supplement these with additional tools such as QGIS, FME, and Python. Job Responsibilities Maintain, operate, and further develop geographic databases Participate in the operational group of the Follo collaboration Daily operation of Gisline, Origo, and the municipality’s e-platform Editing and quality control of zoning plans, municipal master plans, and databases during new mapping efforts Conduct spatial analyses and generate maps and reports Register buildings and addresses in the cadastral system Coordinate mapping projects across departments Provide support during emergency and crisis situations Qualifications Relevant education at master’s or bachelor’s level Experience or solid familiarity with GIS work is desirable Strong oral and written communication skills Knowledge of Gisline and Origo is an advantage Personal Traits Works independently, systematically, and goal-oriented Possesses strong collaboration skills, thrives in cross-disciplinary settings, and contributes positively to the work environment Is engaged, solution-oriented, and helps drive progress and efficient processes Is curious and committed to developing both personal competence and our ways of working We Offer A permanent 100% position within the Unit for Planning, Building Cases, and Environment.
