Your Perspective
OEW Breitband GmbH is active in the field of subsidized broadband expansion and actively shapes the digital future. To support our GIS team, we are looking for an engaged student intern (m/f/d) working 15 to 20 hours per week, starting immediately.
Your Responsibilities
Tool-assisted documentation review (preliminary check):
- Reviewing datasets after initial training on the tools
- Validating reports generated by the tools
- Documenting results in a standardized results protocol
- Structuring documentation data into a uniform submission format
Geospatial data handling:
- Capturing, processing, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data
Communication:
- Liaising with data submitters regarding review outcomes and follow-up requests
Your Profile
Enrolled in a degree program in Geosciences, Geography, Surveying/Geomatics, Geoinformatics, or a related field
Strong interest in digital maps, spatial data, and their analysis
Proficient in GIS applications such as QGIS and/or ArcGIS Pro; foundational skills in processing, visualizing, and analyzing geographic data
Familiarity with geospatial data formats and, optionally, geodatabases
Solid Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word
Structured, meticulous, and independent work style, with enthusiasm for solving spatial problems in a team setting
Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken

OEW Breitband GmbH was founded on August 4, 2021, by the OEW (Breitbandversorgung im Landkreis Sigmaringen GmbH & Co. KG), the Breitbandversorgung im Landkreis Ravensburg association, and the Breitband Bodenseekreis association.
We are tackling one of the most exciting infrastructure challenges in Germany: ensuring comprehensive high-bandwidth, fiber-optic internet access for businesses and households.
Backed by the stable foundation of the nine founding districts of OEW and integrated into the portfolio of OEW Beteiligung GmbH, we launched OEW Breitband GmbH in 2021 to fulfill our mission.
