Position: GIS Coordination Specialist

Working Hours: Full-time
Location: Calau
Your Responsibilities:
Coordinate and support GIS (Geographic Information System) activities across departments within the district administration.
Ensure data consistency, quality, and standardization of geospatial data.
Support departments in the application and implementation of GIS tools and workflows.
Maintain and further develop the district’s GIS infrastructure and databases.
Provide technical advice and training on GIS-related matters to staff.
Collaborate with external partners (e.g., state authorities, municipalities, and project partners) on cross-boundary GIS initiatives.
Your Profile:
Completed university degree in GIS, Geoinformatics, Geodesy, Cartography, or a related field.
Several years of professional experience in GIS coordination, project management, or spatial data management—preferably in a public administration context.
Strong knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Pro and QGIS, as well as experience with geodatabases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
Familiarity with web-based GIS applications and geospatial data standards (e.g., INSPIRE, GDI-DE).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialists.
Proficiency in German; knowledge of English is beneficial.
