About the Role
We are looking for a GIS Data Analyst to join a large-scale GIS Data Cleansing & Reconciliation project. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, validating, cleansing, and reconciling geospatial and attribute data, ensuring alignment between GIS records and operational source systems.
This role will play a key part in improving data quality, correcting data relationships, validating spatial datasets, and supporting the reconciliation of licenses, applications, parcels, and other critical geospatial layers.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Analyze and assess GIS datasets to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, duplicates, and missing information.
✅ Perform geospatial data cleansing, validation, correction, and reconciliation activities.
✅ Review and validate relationships between:
Licenses
Applications
Parcels
Related GIS operational layers
✅ Compare GIS records against source system data and identify discrepancies.
✅ Support GIS-to-source system reconciliation activities and maintain data traceability.
✅ Validate and correct:
Attribute data
Spatial geometry
Relationships between records
GIS identifiers and linked records
✅ Identify and resolve:
Duplicate records
Duplicate geometry
Missing relationships
Orphan records
Incorrect relationships
✅ Conduct spatial data quality checks including:
Geometry validation
Spatial overlap analysis
Area verification
Coordinate system validation
✅ Execute QA/QC procedures on cleansed datasets.
✅ Maintain Data Cleansing & Reconciliation Logs and support project documentation.
✅ Collaborate with GIS specialists, database teams, and business stakeholders to validate source information and data corrections.
