Drinkwater voor 8 miljoen mensen. Energienetten voor heel Nederland.
The GIS systems you develop form the digital backbone of vital infrastructure—not as a cog in a large machine, but as the expert who shapes how these systems are designed.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and improve GIS applications in Smallworld GIS (Magik) and/or Esri, from concept to production.
Advise clients directly on GEO-ICT matters—your expertise directly influences client decisions.
Proactively identify and address improvement opportunities in existing systems.
Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and technical discussions—championing and justifying your technical choices.
If you have a background in Java or C# but no prior Smallworld experience, we’ll provide a Geo-ICT Master Class for you—fully paid and during working hours.
Your Role in the Team:
You’ll work in a small, self-managing team of eight GEO-ICT specialists, serving clients such as water utilities, energy network operators, and ProRail. There are no management layers slowing down decisions—you and your colleagues plan your own sprints, define the technical direction, and jointly own the final outcome. Direct client contact is standard—you’re not a remote executor.
What You Bring:
Minimum 2 years of experience in application development, preferably in a GEO-ICT or infrastructure context.
Knowledge of Java and/or C#, and experience with or affinity for GE Smallworld GIS or Esri.
A WO (research university) degree, preferably in Informatics, Information Science, or a geo-technical field.
Fluent Dutch communication skills, both with colleagues and clients.
What We Offer:
A permanent contract from day one.
A competitive salary aligned with your knowledge and experience.
Full control over your career path with ample opportunities for personal development.
Work on cutting-edge topics and technologies: data, AI, cloud, Agile delivery, and digital transformation.
Attractive secondary employment conditions.
Hybrid working: from home, office, or client sites—depending on project and team agreements.
Flexible working hours and part-time options, tailored to the role and client requirements.
Opportunity to become a CGI shareholder.
