GIS Draftsperson & Designer – Railway Infrastructure (Palma de Mallorca) All candidates must carefully read the following job description and information before submitting their application. Decode Ingeniería is looking for a skilled GIS draftsperson and designer with solid experience in geographic information systems to join full-time on a multi-year contract supporting the management of a railway network in Mallorca. Key Responsibilities Drafting project plans, technical reports, and construction drawings for civil works and railway installations. Maintaining the georeferenced asset inventory of the railway network in QGIS, using a PostgreSQL/PostGIS database (including tracks, stations, level crossings, fencing, overhead catenary, and signaling). Producing as-built plans for each project in Shapefile (SHP) format and integrating them into the client’s GIS system. Processing cartography and orthophotos from drone surveying campaigns. Exploiting data from the group’s proprietary railway image-capture system, which biannually generates a georeferenced inventory and railway street view, and transferring this data into the client’s GIS layers. Requirements Minimum 15 years of professional experience in drafting and GIS. Advanced proficiency in QGIS and spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS). Strong skills in AutoCAD or equivalent, and familiarity with common geospatial data formats (SHP, DXF, GeoPackage, KML). Proven experience in civil engineering or linear infrastructure projects. Full-time availability and residence in Mallorca, or willingness to relocate. Preferred qualifications: Experience in railway infrastructure projects. Handling of LiDAR data and point clouds. Knowledge of Python for QGIS automation. Catalan language skills. What We Offer Indefinite full-time contract based in Palma. Assignment to a 4-year contract with a defined work program. Collaboration with a team of ~20 professionals and the group’s technology spin-off, specialized in georeferenced digitalization of infrastructure.
