Your Work Environment
The Eigenbetrieb Hanau Infrastruktur Service employs approximately 360 staff and includes departments for green spaces, traffic and road management, waste management and street cleaning, workshops and fleet operations, construction execution and supervision, commercial services and administration, as well as cemeteries and crematorium.
The Department of Wastewater Management and Flood Protection is responsible for operating and maintaining the city’s approximately 350 km-long sewer network, around 60 pumping stations, retention and combined sewer overflow treatment facilities, Hanau’s central wastewater treatment plant (designed for 200,000 population equivalents), and flood protection measures.
Responsibilities
Manage users, maintain, and expand GIS software used within the enterprise
Maintain and update the spatial data inventory
Create cartographic outputs and implement planning documents within the GIS system
Organize and conduct internal training sessions for small groups
Develop technical concepts and implement related projects
Collect and process digital spatial data
Analyze data and prepare reports
Profile
Successfully completed university degree in a GIS-related field (e.g., geoinformatics, geomatics, geography, cartography, or similar)
Experience with databases/SQL and use of CAD software such as AutoCAD or BricsCAD
Proficiency in GIS platforms ArcGIS Pro/QGIS, as well as familiarity with XML and ISYBAU wastewater data exchange formats
Curiosity and enthusiasm for experimenting with new ideas in the GIS domain
Ideally, prior experience in public administration
