We are seeking a freelance instructor (m/f/d) for our GIS department to teach the course Esri ArcGIS I – Introduction to Modern Geospatial Analysis. As our learning format is fully remote, location independence is required. Instruction is conducted full-day in German, so advanced German language skills are mandatory.
The following topics serve as guidance for potential course content—we encourage you to bring your own individual focus areas that enrich the subject matter within the framework of independent teaching.

Fundamentals of GIS and ArcGIS Pro
General introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Desktop software ArcGIS Pro (Esri)
Interface navigation, core functions, and toolboxes
Introduction to ArcGIS Online
Introduction to 3D mapping in ArcGIS Pro
Coordinate Systems and Projections
Theoretical foundations of coordinate systems and map projections
Practical handling of projections and coordinate transformations
Incorporating Geospatial Data
Working with various data types and key formats (vector and raster)
Accessing geospatial web services (WMS, WFS, etc.)
Utilizing data from ArcGIS Online
Capturing and Editing Geospatial Data
Working with attribute tables and SQL queries, Field Calculator
Digitization (collecting your own geospatial data)
Georeferencing (spatially referencing raster data)
Spatial data editing and analysis
Geospatial Processing and Cartography
Geodatabase management and geoprocessing
Geovisualization techniques

Your Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction in German for a full-day course
Prepare and present course materials covering the listed topics
Support participants in practical exercises and project work
Provide constructive feedback and foster interactive learning
Your Profile:
Completed university-level education in GIS, Geoinformatics, Geodesy, Surveying, or a related field
Proven professional experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of geospatial data handling, analysis, and visualization
Experience in teaching or adult education is highly desirable
Excellent German language skills (C1 level or equivalent)
Ability to work independently and remotely
