The Technical Service Administration is Trelleborg Municipality’s enabler, acting as a safe, secure, and value-creating resource. We work proactively, efficiently, and sustainably alongside residents, businesses, and visitors. Its five departments hold overall responsibility for planning, managing, and developing the public realm across various areas.
This includes maintaining municipal public spaces, waste and wastewater management, water supply and infrastructure, as well as delivering internal services such as facility operations and maintenance, cleaning, system management, and IT support.

The Position
The Water and Waste Management department is one unit within the Technical Service Administration. With around 70 employees, we ensure that our customers receive high-quality drinking water, that wastewater is treated before reaching the recipient, and that waste management functions effectively.
As GIS Engineer, you will join the Investigation & Development unit—one of four units within Water and Waste Management. This unit provides advisory support across the entire department and consists of a diverse team with broad expertise: 7 investigation engineers with various specializations, 2 GIS engineers, 3 environmental engineers, and a unit manager. You will work on assignments commissioned by the Wastewater Production unit and support the organization on environmental-related matters.
This is a one-year temporary replacement position.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the digital water and wastewater (VA) pipeline network, using data sources such as GPS measurements and pipeline inspections conducted via camera.
Respond to inquiries received through systems like Ledningskollen (Pipeline Registry).
Produce maps for various purposes.
Perform geospatial processing, statistical analysis, and other types of analysis as needed.
We use ESRI software (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and Field Maps) and Geosecma Ledning VA.
Qualifications
Completed foundational GIS education at post-secondary level.
Strong proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Experience or education in water and wastewater (VA) systems and familiarity with ESRI software are considered merits.
Valid Class B driver’s license for a manual transmission vehicle is required.
