Company: Canton of Bern In LANAT, spatial data plays a crucial role. During the setup phase of the GIS coordination unit, the focus lies on its conceptual and strategic development. In operational terms, the position supports individual LANAT departments with GIS-specific questions and assists in planning and implementing projects—all in close alignment with the cantonal GIS strategy. The position is organizationally anchored within the Department of Nature Promotion. Your Responsibilities Establish and operate a cross-departmental GIS coordination unit at the LANAT level Coordinate and accompany processes, projects, and activities related to GIS Provide expert support to departmental units on GIS-related questions and applications Assist with data analysis, data preparation, and quality assurance Lead the LANAT Geoinformation Forum and represent LANAT in professional committees Your Profile University or Fachhochschule (university of applied sciences) degree in engineering, computer science, geography, or a related field, with a personal connection to nature and agriculture Several years of experience working with GIS systems (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, QGIS) Solid knowledge of data management and geospatial infrastructures Didactic skills and prior training in project and process management are desirable Native German speaker with good spoken French proficiency What We Offer Flexible working hours with home office options Pleasant, team-oriented work environment Professionally tailored continuing education opportunities Attractive rural workplace located in Münsingen (near Schwand)
