For our nationwide infrastructure projects, we are looking for a GIS Specialist (m/f/d) who will take responsibility for the preparation, maintenance, and quality assurance of our geospatial data—ensuring reliable, up-to-date, and consistent datasets.
Your Responsibilities
Our core service areas include project-focused work in:
Project planning and permitting
Project execution and management
Communication management and project support
Your Tasks:
Preparation of geospatial data from planning documents, geometric calculations, and digitization processes, and integration into existing datasets
Review of incoming data for completeness, plausibility, and GIS compliance
Maintenance and updating of infrastructure network geodata (e.g., power transmission lines or communication facilities)
Support in developing standards, quality criteria, and workflows for geodata management
Operational work with ArcGIS and QGIS for data capture, maintenance, and analysis
Creation and maintenance of project-specific web applications in ArcGIS Online
Coordination with internal departments and external service providers
Support in tendering processes and internal GIS-related inquiries
Occasional fieldwork support for geodata acquisition (e.g., using camera vehicles, drones, or surveying equipment)
Development of initial GIS-based planning concepts for infrastructure projects, following internal standards and client requirements
Production of maps and plan sets in GIS for permitting processes or land-use management
Your Profile
Your Qualifications:
Professional Qualifications:
Completed university degree or equivalent qualification in GIS, surveying, geodesy, mathematics, or a related field
Relevant professional experience in geodata management or GIS environments (or comparable qualifications)
Hands-on experience with GIS software—ideally ArcGIS Pro—and familiarity with Python scripting for geodata processing and automation
Foundational knowledge of surveying and strong mathematical and technical understanding
Personal Attributes:
Team orientation, sense of responsibility, and service-oriented mindset
Independent, structured, and solution-oriented work style after onboarding
Analytical thinking and ability to clearly and logically explain complex topics
Proficient German language skills (minimum B2 level)
Prior experience in field-based geodata collection is advantageous
Class B driver’s license; knowledge of drones or other acquisition technologies is a plus
