Your Responsibilities
Creating maps, databases, and WebGIS applications using ArcGIS and QGIS, as well as development plans (Bauleitpläne) using AutoCAD and WS LandCad for urban and landscape planning studies and projects
Maintaining existing geodatabases, creating new datasets, and converting geospatial data for interoperability with INSPIRE and XPlanung standards
Conceptualizing, establishing, and continuously developing the GIS infrastructure of the Urban Planning Department into a digital twin, in collaboration with other geospatial units (e.g., the Lower Saxony Landesamt für Geoinformation, and the district)
Analyzing geospatial data, modeling spatial data, and performing database queries
Administering GIS software (currently QGIS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and WS LandCad) in coordination with central IT and other departments using GIS
Adapting GIS applications to technological advancements such as Digital Twin and 3D modeling, and introducing new specialized tools as needed
Preparing and providing geospatial data and maps for third parties (residents, municipalities, other authorities), including GIS coordination and interface management for the district-wide WebGIS platform
Your Profile
Completed university degree in Geoinformatics or a comparable program with in-depth knowledge and relevant professional experience in this application area
Solid expertise in Digital Twins, geospatial infrastructures, urban geospatial platforms, and AutoCAD applications
Familiarity with geospatial standards and open-source GIS tools (e.g., GeoServer, QGIS)
Strong understanding of interdisciplinary topics, technical aptitude, and proven experience with common project management methodologies
Native or near-native proficiency in German (C2 level), with excellent communication and clear written and spoken expression
