In 2023, Jordbruksverket launched a new system that interprets agricultural events using Sentinel satellite data. This system requires ongoing maintenance as well as further development with new types of analysis. You will primarily work within this area, handling tasks ranging from development to monitoring progress in remote sensing and agriculture. The role involves frequent internal collaboration with requirement owners, developers, and end users, as well as external collaboration—nationally with other authorities and companies, and internationally with the European Commission and other EU member states. You will join the GIS group within the Geodata and Payments Unit, which collectively handles assignments from various clients regarding the maintenance and further development of our GIS systems. System maintenance is a key part of your responsibilities, including requirement analysis, testing, and user support. Our users are located at Jordbruksverket and the County Administrative Boards. You hold an academic degree in a field relevant to the position, or another education combined with experience we assess as equivalent. You also have solid knowledge of GIS, remote sensing, and satellite data—gained through education or professional experience—as well as documented experience with Python programming.
