Job Duties
We are continuing to develop our system for monitoring agricultural land use in Sweden using satellite data. Would you like to join us on this journey?
In 2023, Jordbruksverket launched a new system that automatically interprets agricultural activity using data from Sentinel satellites. This system requires ongoing maintenance as well as continuous development with new types of analysis. You will primarily work within this area, handling tasks ranging from development to area-based monitoring of developments in remote sensing and agriculture.
The role involves frequent internal collaboration with stakeholders, developers, and end users, as well as external collaboration—nationally with other authorities and companies, and internationally with the European Commission and other member states.
You will join the GIS group within the Geodata and Payment Unit, which collectively handles assignments from various clients regarding the maintenance and further development of our existing GIS systems. System maintenance is a key part of the role and includes requirements analysis, testing, and user support. End users are located at Jordbruksverket and County Administrative Boards.
Qualifications

You communicate clearly and directly in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
You hold an academic degree in a field relevant to the position, or another education combined with experience that we assess as equivalent.
You also have solid knowledge of GIS, remote sensing, and satellite data—acquired through education or experience—as well as documented experience with Python programming.
Meritorious qualifications include:
Experience with time-series analysis of satellite data
Experience with satellite-based radar data
Experience developing AI models and applying machine learning in image analysis
Any knowledge of agriculture
