GIS Specialist & Works Preparation Engineer

Overview As a GIS specialist and works preparation engineer, you will contribute to drought mitigation initiatives in rural areas, design and prepare water system measures, and collaborate with specialists and stakeholders within the Haarvaten op Peil (HOP) program. Assignment Description Within the Haarvaten op Peil (HOP) program, Waterschap Vechtstromen is working to increase freshwater availability and reduce the impacts of drought on the High Sand Regions in Eastern Netherlands. To implement HOP, the program leverages the Bosgroepen Oost Nederland, a cooperative members’ organization with a unique position of trust among private landowners and estate owners in the region. Maintaining strong engagement with the Bosgroepen is therefore critical to preserving support and ensuring smooth implementation of drought mitigation measures. The team includes a project manager, ecologist, cultural technique advisor/works preparation engineer, and GIS specialist.
