We are seeking a GIS Technician to join a
small, privately held Oil & Gas E&P company
in Houston. This is a hands-on role supporting Engineering, Geology, and Land with mapping and GIS data related to company acreage, wells, leases, mineral interests, and other Oil & Gas assets.
Responsibilities
• Create and maintain maps of company acreage, wells, leases, and other Oil & Gas assets
• Create and update GIS layers, well locations, lease boundaries, and property information
• Research and map mineral acreage, wells, permits, and surrounding activity
• Import and maintain data received from consultants, surveyors, and other sources
• Create maps and exhibits for Engineering, Geology, Land, and Management
• Maintain accurate GIS files and databases
• Perform data analysis and quality control
• Support special mapping and GIS projects as needed
Qualifications
•
ArcGIS Pro experience is a MUST
• 1–3 years of GIS experience preferred
• Oil & Gas, land, acreage, lease, or well mapping experience is a plus
• Degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with maps, databases, and large amounts of data
• Ability to work independently and across multiple functions
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join a smaller E&P environment where you can work closely with multiple disciplines and gain broad exposure across the business.
This is an onsite role in the Heights area, five days per week. There is some flexibility when needed, but it is not a hybrid position.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
