What Will You Do?
As a GIS/GEO Information Intern, you will join the Mobility & Parking team. This is a hands-on internship for 24–36 hours per week, exclusively for students required to complete an internship as part of their education. The start date will be arranged mutually, preferably between January and July 2027.
During your internship, you will contribute to the development of GEO-information within the Municipality of Rijswijk. The Mobility & Parking and Information teams collaborate closely to intensify the use of GEO-information and associated map layers. You will help design smart solutions and implementations for setting up and using the GIS system.
Additionally, you may support the creation of sketches and small designs for our infrastructure projects, particularly in the areas of pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, as well as minor street redesigns.
In this internship, you’ll broaden your spatial insight by working on:
Structuring, analyzing, evaluating, and visualizing data (via apps, charts, or maps)
Preparing GIS files for data collection purposes
Creating maps, charts, and dashboards for GIS/GEO and traffic information in ‘George’
Preparing technical drawings using Autodesk or ArcGIS for our cycling and road infrastructure projects
Your Team
We employ around 600 staff across 35 teams in 5 domains for Rijswijk. You’ll join the Mobility & Parking team — a diverse group of about 30 professionals, from young talent to experienced colleagues, combining fresh ideas with years of expertise. We are responsible for all aspects of the mobility chain, from strategic advice on large urban development projects to traffic control, shared mobility, cycling policy, and parking regulation.

Who Are You?
You can successfully and enjoyably carry out this internship if you match the following profile:
You are currently enrolled in a relevant MBO 4, HBO, or WO program in the spatial, geomatics, or surveying field;
You are genuinely enthusiastic about working with GIS, Autodesk, data, and maps;
You are proactive, strong in communication, and seeking a practical internship;
You reside in the Netherlands, preferably near Rijswijk.
