Job summary The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) is a world-leading agency providing the most comprehensive range of marine geospatial information across the globe. This information is used for the primary purpose of safe navigation and global trade efficiency, but also supports other marine activities including economic development, environmental protection, and national security. About The Role: The Hydrographic Programmes Officer will support the delivery of international hydrographic and marine geospatial capacity-building programs. The role involves managing marine spatial data workflows, overseeing bathymetric survey contracts, coordinating with international hydrographic organizations, and maintaining marine geospatial databases. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate and oversee hydrographic survey data collection and marine geospatial data management projects. • Evaluate, quality-assure, and integrate bathymetric and maritime spatial data into UKHO databases and navigational products. • Collaborate with international partners and marine government agencies on hydrographic capacity development. • Support marine spatial planning and geographic information initiatives. Qualifications: • Degree in Hydrography, Marine Science, GIS, Surveying, or relevant subject. • Experience in hydrographic survey management, marine geospatial data processing, or cartography. • Familiarity with marine GIS systems, S-57/S-100 standards, and spatial data infrastructure.
