For our Sampling team within the Centre for Water Expertise & Innovation (CWI), we are looking for an MBO-4 or HBO intern with an interest in GIS, data, and process improvement. During this internship, you will investigate how location-based data is managed and used within the Sampling department. You will map existing systems and data sources, analyse pain points, and develop recommendations for a central, future-proof solution—helping colleagues work faster and more efficiently. No two days are the same, and your work contributes to something vital: every day, Vitens delivers 1 billion litres of top-quality drinking water. What You’ll Be Working On During your internship, you will: Inventory the systems, apps, and data sources currently used within the Sampling team Analyse the quality and accessibility of location data Identify practical challenges faced by users in their daily work Explore options for centrally making location data available Draft a practical, future-proof recommendation for a new solution You will collaborate with various colleagues and have ample opportunity to conduct independent research. What You Bring We are especially interested in who you are and what you enjoy—but in addition: You are enrolled in an MBO-4 or HBO programme in Geo-ICT, GIS, Data Management, Technical Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field You have a genuine interest in data, maps, and digital systems You are curious, independent, and analytically minded You enjoy collaborating with diverse colleagues What We Offer You As an Intern – GIS & Data Optimization, you’ll join a passionate team and gain hands-on experience.
