About the Role
UNDP - United Nations Development Programme is recruiting a National Specialist on GIS and Remote Sensing (Indonesia, home-based with possible travel to Jakarta and other locations as approved).
Assignment window: commence November 2026, conclude April 2027 (about 70 working days within 6 months).
Closing date: 2026-10-13.
Objective: develop, analyse, integrate, and visualize geospatial and remote sensing information to support assessment of readiness for community-based blue carbon projects (especially mangrove and seagrass), providing spatial evidence for the Blue Carbon Readiness Framework (BCRF) and spatially explicit readiness maps.
Technical domains include:
Geospatial Database Development and Data Management
Blue Carbon Ecosystem Mapping and Analysis
Remote Sensing and Google Earth Engine (GEE) Analysis
Thematic Mapping and Spatial Analysis
Spatial Support to the BCRF Readiness Dimensions
Spatial Readiness Index and Readiness Mapping
Spatial Data Quality Control, Validation, and Visualization
