GIS Analyst – State of Mexico

Position Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced GIS Analyst to join our team in the State of Mexico. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and their application within the energy sector. Key responsibilities include geospatial data analysis, map creation and management, and technical support for critical organizational projects. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive analysis of geospatial data and maps to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities in the energy sector. Develop, maintain, and update geographic databases using GIS software. Create thematic maps, diagrams, and visualizations to clearly and effectively communicate complex information. Collaborate closely with other departments (engineering, operations, development) to provide GIS technical support and analysis. Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring proper integration of geographic information. Identify and evaluate new GIS technologies and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure the quality and accuracy of geographic data used in analyses. Generate reports and presentations based on GIS analysis results. Mandatory Requirements Experience: Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in GIS analysis. Location: Must be a LOCAL resident in the State of Mexico. Industry: Demonstrable experience in the energy sector. Technical Knowledge: Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Map Analysis: Proven ability to perform detailed map analysis and extract actionable insights. GIS Software: Proficiency in industry-standard GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS). Data Management: Experience managing and manipulating spatial data. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience with spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial). Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for GIS automation.
