As a GIS Consultant & Solution Engineer, you will work at the interface between technology, data, and client projects, developing innovative GIS and data solutions, advising clients on complex requirements, and guiding exciting projects from concept to successful implementation. Responsibilities Actively expand sales in the Geo-IT / GIS business area (especially CAIGOS), including sales and support activities Consult clients (municipalities, utility providers, infrastructure operators) on GIS and data solutions related to infrastructure projects and implement these projects Analyze client requirements and develop tailored solution concepts Implement and support GIS projects (primarily CAIGOS and QGIS) Provide user support and assist in training sessions GIS development Select and deploy appropriate tools and programming languages; research and evaluate new technologies in geospatial data, cloud computing, AI, and existing open-source solutions Profile Education & Experience Completed university degree or vocational training in surveying, geoinformatics, computer science, environmental or civil engineering, or a related field Professional experience with GIS systems (ideally CAIGOS; as well as QGIS or similar) Technical Skills Solid knowledge of geospatial data management, data modeling, and databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, MS SQL, Oracle) Experience in processing, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data Expertise in GIS development and automation (e.g., Python, QGIS plugins, scripting) In-depth knowledge of designing geospatial data structures and geodatabases Experience in database design and programming Strong Python programming skills; additional programming languages are a plus Personal Qualities Enthusiasm and strong communication skills in client-facing interactions Analytical thinking Structured, independent work style combined with teamwork skills Language & Other Requirements Very good German (C1 level or native speaker) English skills are advantageous Valid driver’s license (Class B) The listed qualifications and experiences represent the ideal profile.
