Job Responsibilities
Develop scripts, tools, and automated workflows for geospatial data processing.
Perform programming to automate processes such as data cleaning, geoprocessing, raster/vector processing, spatial analysis, batch processing, and integration of diverse spatial data sources.
Develop spatial and geospatial analysis models.
For R&D purposes, including land suitability assessment, land-cover analysis, change detection, accessibility analysis, spatial prioritization, terrain analysis, environmental modeling, and other analyses supporting agroforestry and forestry initiatives.
Develop and manage GIS applications/systems.
Including WebGIS, spatial dashboards, GIS tools, geospatial APIs, or internal applications for visualization, monitoring, data collection, processing, and dissemination of geospatial information.
Develop and manage geospatial databases.
To ensure effective storage, access, integration, and processing of data—including data structure standardization, spatial database design, metadata management, data pipeline development, version control, and spatial query optimization.
Integrate, test, validate, and optimize GIS systems/models.
Collaborate with Remote Sensing & GIS Specialists and R&D teams to translate research requirements into geospatial technology solutions.
Support technical troubleshooting related to GIS software, scripts, databases, models, or applications used by R&D teams.
Assist in field surveys or ground truthing as needed for model development and validation.
Perform other duties relevant to R&D functions and job competencies, as assigned by the Remote Sensing & GIS Specialist or R&D Division Head.
