About the Role
At the City Environment Administration (Stadsmiljöförvaltningen), approximately 1,000 employees share responsibility for Gothenburg’s public spaces and integrated mobility systems. As one of four city development administrations, it contributes collectively to the city’s sustainability goals.
You will join a team of five professionals responsible for facility registers and GIS matters. With Gothenburg growing rapidly, there is an increasing demand for high-quality, up-to-date geospatial data—making your role essential in ensuring infrastructure data remains accurate and usable.
Key Responsibilities
Map and maintain geographic data and facility registers
Conduct field surveys and collect data to ensure current and reliable information
Administer GIS data in the database
Perform analysis and data management using FME (Feature Manipulation Engine)
Contribute to development and quality assurance of workflows and data standards
Provide GIS support to various departments within the administration
Qualifications
Required
Higher education (e.g., Bachelor’s or equivalent) in GIS or related field
3–4 years of professional experience in GIS-related work, including at least 2 years in mapping and/or data maintenance
Demonstrated work experience with FME and basic experience in GIS database administration
Strong attention to detail and enthusiasm for mapping and data maintenance
Fluent proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
Meritorious
Experience mapping or maintaining municipal technical infrastructure (e.g., utilities, roads, public spaces)
Experience with tools such as MyCarta, ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, and HAJK
