About the Role
Company: Nefino
At Nefino, we develop software solutions for the renewable energy sector. Among other services, we conduct land-use analyses, decommissioning cost forecasts, and energy yield simulations—supporting landowners, energy utilities, and municipalities in their contribution to the energy transition. As a young company, Nefino places strong emphasis on flexible working hours, an open feedback culture, and a relaxed team atmosphere.
Our mission is to accelerate the energy transition through digitalization of the renewable energy landscape and contribute to a livable future.
Responsibilities
In your role as GIS Expert, you will support us in managing our geospatial data, conducting independent analyses in our GIS platform, and contributing to the continuous enhancement of our data infrastructure.
You will work with our innovative GIS platform, helping to further develop it. Your tasks include researching, evaluating, and integrating relevant geodatasets on wind and solar energy potential areas, ensuring structured, quality-assured data storage.
You will develop and maintain scripts for the automated extraction, processing, and preparation of geospatial data—thereby helping to make our data pipelines more efficient and scalable.
As part of our interdisciplinary project team, you will be involved in diverse tasks—from collecting and structuring new geospatial data and quality assurance of existing datasets to site potential analysis for wind and solar energy.
Qualifications
Ideally, you bring the following experience:
Advanced student status (2nd semester or higher) in Geography, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning, Environmental Engineering, Geoinformatics, or a related field.
Basic proficiency with QGIS or ArcGIS.
Passion for geospatial data research, preparation, processing, and analysis.
Interest in emerging trends and technologies in the energy transition.
You approach challenges responsibly, solution-oriented, and as a fair team player—and have strong German language skills.
Minimum working hours: 12 hours/week (maximum 20 hours/week).
Please indicate how much longer you expect to continue your studies.
Note: This is a 100% on-site position.
Benefits
Join our team and help turn shared visions into reality. At Nefino, you’ll find an exciting work environment in the renewable energy sector, challenging data analytics and software development tasks focused on wind and solar energy, flexible working arrangements, and a particularly open and supportive team.
We look forward to hearing from you!
