GIS Specialist

Job Description As a GIS Specialist, you are responsible for managing, analyzing, and visualizing geographic and spatial data for both area development and public space management. You collaborate with project managers, advisors, and other specialists to collect, structure, and present data in usable formats such as maps, dashboards, and story maps. You advise on the use of geospatial information, support cost estimation, and contribute to optimizing GIS processes. You actively contribute to the project team developing a new village and work on improving data management within the organization. You translate complex issues into practical GIS solutions and ensure that geospatial information is accessible and reliable for the organization. Who You Are (or Want to Become) Willing to be physically present on-site or at meetings for at least 3 days per week Affinity with data analysis, data quality, and information management Entrepreneurial and proactive attitude Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset Familiarity with GIS applications, preferably the ESRI platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, and related applications) Knowledge of geospatial concepts such as coordinate systems, projections, geometries, and data models Good communication and advisory skills Experience processing, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data and spatial information Familiarity with Dutch base registrations and geospatial standards such as BAG, BGT, BRK, and preferably IMBOR Relevant work experience in the geo/GIS domain Curious and interested in new developments within the field Flexible and able to weigh the interests of various stakeholders Proficient in Dutch, both spoken and written Customer- and service-oriented Open to feedback and committed to collaboration Experience working in multidisciplinary projects and teams A team player who shares knowledge and supports colleagues Capable of working independently, service-oriented, and environmentally conscious HBO-level (higher professional education) in fields such as Geo-informatics, Geo-ICT, Geography, Geomatics, or similar Offer Room for initiative and ideas Use of personal equipment (BYOD) Opportunity to work with modern techniques and methods A challenging role within a growing and innovative organization Flexible working hours within the agreed number of hours Access to professional development opportunities A dynamic work environment with engaged colleagues Company Profile Our client is an organization focused on mediating independent professionals to interim assignments within the public sector.
