Context The Consulting, Planning & Territories (CAT) Directorate is structured around six complementary disciplines: Territorial dialogue and stakeholder engagement Environmental and sustainable engineering Mobility strategy and studies Land strategy and engineering Program management and project delivery Safety and health protection coordination (CSPS) Cross-cutting activities support the delivery of studies. Within the CAT Directorate, the Digital & GIS team (comprising ~7 members) supports business operations and project implementation—including study support (data science, modeling, GIS/cartographic production), dataset development (land potential, brownfield identification, business mobility, etc.), automation, and web application development. Mission / Main Duties As a GIS Specialist / Developer, you will be part of the Digital & GIS team, working alongside complementary profiles: GIS engineers, SIG developers, data scientists, data analysts, and IT developers. Your Key Responsibilities: Organize, manage, and/or contribute to consulting studies and assignments—particularly those related to data and geospatial information. Collect, integrate, and process statistical and georeferenced data. Produce cartographic deliverables (maps, atlases, web maps, etc.) using GIS tools. Design and develop processing chains and software tools tailored to user needs (e.g., QGIS ModelBuilder, FME, Python scripts). Contribute to internal projects involving GeoAI and field-deployable (mobile) applications. Draft and analyze functional and technical specifications for extensions to desktop GIS tools and web-based SIG applications. Document and review code related to automation solutions. Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams with IT developers, product owners, and managers. Provide technical support for Python-based developments. Profile / Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) to Master’s degree (Bac+5) in GIS or geospatial information processing. Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant experience. Required Technical Skills: GIS & cartographic tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, FME, Illustrator, etc.) Geospatial database administration (PostgreSQL/PostGIS) and SQL Programming languages (Python, etc.) Fundamentals of web cartographic development Proficiency in office productivity tools Preferred Technical Skills: Project management Graphic design Personal Qualities: Team spirit Curiosity about geospatial technologies (GeoAI, agentic AI, etc.) Autonomy, rigor, and organization Clear communication Proactivity in solution-finding, analysis, and cartographic production SYSTRA is a disability-inclusive employer.
