Within the Directorate of Geomatics and Observation (DGO), you will join a team at the heart of managing, valorizing, and disseminating Nantes Métropole’s geospatial data.
Department and Role Description
Reporting to the head of the Data Administration Unit, you will lead the industrialization and maintenance of automated geospatial data processing within the dedicated data warehouse and contribute to geospatial data administration tasks.
Your responsibilities will focus on the following areas:
Design, develop, and maintain automated geospatial data processing workflows
Design, industrialize, and maintain automated data processing pipelines and their orchestration—primarily using FME ETL, Python, and SQL queries
Organize, structure, and secure the ingestion and distribution of geospatial data between systems, tools, and applications
Contribute to the maintenance of the metadata catalog
Implement controls to ensure processing and data quality, integrity, and reliability
Write and update associated technical documentation
Provide technical support related to data processing
Act as a technical reference for users
Define frameworks and best practices
Advise and support data administrators and project managers in implementing and managing data workflows
Lead a user community and support skill development in ETL/FME usage
Conduct and share tool-related technology watch
Contribute to the administration and evolution of the geospatial data infrastructure
Participate in the full geospatial data lifecycle: modeling, integration, validation, quality assurance, cataloging, and dissemination
Define and enforce data governance rules, monitor web services provided to users, and ensure their proper operation
Leverage ESRI technologies and support the evolution of GIS-based workflows
Conduct forward-looking monitoring on open data and available data streams, and assess opportunities for their use
Profile Sought
You are a seasoned professional in geomatics and GIS, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in managing, integrating, and automating geospatial data.
Required Skills:
Proven professional experience in geomatics / GIS
Strong expertise in ETL processes (FME)
Proficiency with PostgreSQL / PostGIS databases
Advanced skills in SQL and Python
Solid familiarity with ESRI tools
Experience in structuring, integrating, and validating geospatial data
Technical Competencies (Savoir-faire)
Design and optimization of data processing pipelines
Project-based work in GIS and spatial ETL environments
User support and procedural documentation
Cross-functional collaboration and regular reporting

Working Conditions
Salary
Based on the civil servant salary grid for territorial engineers + Allowance regime + Certification bonus + Public Service Bonus (€1,846 gross/year).
Indicative salary range: €40,000 – €50,000 gross/year
