Instructor – Mining 4.0: Python, GIS, and Mine Data Management

The selected candidate will lead Module 1: Corporate Digital Platform and Integrated Mine Data Management, designed for mining professionals aiming to apply programming, automation, and data analytics to mining and geology operations. Conditions Mode: 100% remote Duration: 18 academic hours, delivered across 8 live sessions and 1 asynchronous session Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00–9:00 PM (Peru time) Start Date: October 27, 2026 Compensation: USD 14–18 per hour, based on academic qualifications and number of program participants We seek a candidate with a practical and applied focus, able to develop real-world cases, exercises, and demonstrations relevant to the mining industry. Required Profile Professional background in Systems Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geology, Geological Engineering, Geomatics, Data Science, or related fields 5+ years of professional experience in mining, geology, GIS, analytics, or data management Proficiency in Python and SQL Experience with Pandas, NumPy, ETL processes, data automation, and QA/QC Working knowledge of spatial data and GIS tools Preferred: Experience with GeoPandas, Rasterio, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS Preferred: Experience with drill hole databases, geological data, and mining reporting Prior experience in university teaching, executive education, or professional training Ability to deliver engaging, hands-on classes focused on real-world mining scenarios Responsibilities Deliver virtual sessions on Mining 4.0, applied programming, and integrated mine data management Develop practical cases and workshops using Python, SQL, Pandas, NumPy, and GIS tools Mentor participants in automation, ETL, QA/QC, spatial data analysis, and mine database management Apply tools such as GeoPandas, Rasterio, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS in exercises related to geological and drill hole data Connect technical content with real-world cases in exploration, geology, operations, and mining decision-making Develop course materials, activities, and academic resources aligned with the module’s curriculum
