ELIGIBILITY Suitably qualified candidates CLOSING DATE 09.10.2026 REFERENCE NUMBER CS 147/26 Ext SALARY TCOE Salary: R1122322.00 DEPARTMENT Information Systems and Technology DIRECTORATE CORPORATE SERVICES Principal GIS Analyst Requirements Relevant three-year tertiary qualification or higher preferably in Geomatics or GIS field Professional registration with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) is advantageous Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in Geomatics/ GIS/Geospatial Valid Code B driver’s licence will be advantageous. Key Performance Areas Manage the function of the Geospatial section Manage the acquisition of aerial photography, LiDAR data, oblique aerial photography and 3D building models Provide Geomatics services through the compilation of geospatial data and products (including 3D building models, zoning models, digital elevation models and remote sensing data) Direct and control the accuracy, standards and quality of geospatial data Manage projects relating to geospatial data Manage the dissemination of data according to the Spatial Data Infrastructure Act Apply a body of specialist knowledge, coupled with experience, to research GIS and Geospatial Innovation Perform activities associated with tender procurement and contract administration Manage contractors, contracts, control and implement contractual obligations Prepare deviation reports for software and systems maintenance Provide a consultancy service for internal and external clients Keep abreast of technological developments in the fields of Geomatics, GIS, and Photogrammetry.
