About the Role
Who We Are
The Denys Group is a family-run construction company headquartered in Ghent, Belgium, with over 100 years of experience. While the international group covers many areas of construction, Denys Germany specializes in planning and executing infrastructure projects—particularly in underground energy and utility networks.
Through large-scale projects in underground cabling, pipeline installation, and district heating networks, we actively contribute to Germany’s energy transition.
Our Commitment
Our long-term project pipeline ensures high stability and future-oriented career opportunities for our employees.
Your Responsibilities
Prepare surveying tasks: Independently plan surveying and setting-out operations and prepare necessary setting-out data.
Conduct setting-out: Perform precise setting-out for existing and newly installed cable and utility systems, as well as for routes, work zones, and excavation pits.
Support construction teams: Provide on-site surveying and technical support directly to construction crews.
Transfer designs to site: Accurately translate design data into the field and adapt plans as needed to reflect actual site conditions.
As-built and existing condition surveys: Carry out existing condition and as-built surveys, process collected data, and produce as-built plans.
Process survey data: Convert raw measurements into reusable datasets—including 3D polylines, digital terrain models, and cross-sections. Also process drone and GIS data (e.g., GeoTIFF, LandXML, Shapefiles).
Support quantity and earthwork calculations: Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to process survey data for volume and quantity calculations in civil and utility works. Provide surveying support for trenching operations and assist in setting up and operating RTK-GPS machine control systems on construction machinery.
Your Profile
Education: A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is ideal. Alternatively, vocational training as a surveying technician or equivalent qualification is acceptable.
Practical experience: Prior hands-on experience in site surveying—e.g., from internships, vocational training, or studies—is expected. Experience in cabling or utility infrastructure projects is an advantage.
Surveying skills: Proficiency with standard surveying equipment and techniques, especially RTK-GPS/GNSS and total stations.
Software skills: Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly desirable. Knowledge of MicroStation, Topcon 3D-Office, QGIS, ArcGIS, Microsoft Planner, or Excel is a plus.
Drone skills: A drone pilot certificate (or equivalent competency proof) and experience in drone-based surveying and data processing are advantageous.
Work approach: You are precise, meticulous, and results-oriented. You plan your work independently, prioritize effectively, and reliably meet deadlines. You are curious, motivated, and eager to learn.
Personal requirements: Strong English skills and a valid Class B driver’s license are required. Comfort working independently and in an international team is essential, as is a willingness to spend approximately 80% of your time outdoors year-round. German language skills are desirable.
